About the Idea
RESPECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Respecting the environment means carefully identifying the waste materials we produce daily. Founder Gianluca Soldi, an architect and interior designer deeply committed to both people and the planet, designed the Ovetto recycling bin. With its elegant, harmonious aesthetics and practical functionality, Ovetto ensures proper waste disposal while promoting environmental responsibility. Launched in the spring of 2008, this innovative recycling bin blends design with sustainability. By March 2009, the business expanded in Italy, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom, making Ovetto a pioneer in the market for unique, eco-friendly designer products in this niche sector.
The Ovetto Project
Birth of a new world
The Ovetto project demonstrates that environmental care is achievable by using waste materials to create a recycling bin made from recycled components. This initiative turns sustainability into a core mission, transforming waste into a new opportunity. Crafted from ABS and Polypropylene, Ovetto is made from varying percentages of post-consumption recycled materials—ranging from 40-70% for the white and shiny black versions, to 100% for the opaque black version. We also use 100% recyclable cardboard for packaging, avoiding the use of Polystyrene, and offer pioneering ‘Mater-Bi’ biodegradable and compostable bioplastic bin bags upon request.
